Forest Rights Act

No other Act pertaining to forests is as controversial or contentious as the Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Rights) Act, also known as the Forest Rights Act (FRA). Confusion prevails among Forests Officials, Revenue Officials and NGOs on what is and what is not permissible under the FRA and exactly how it is to be viewed and implemented.
