This picture highlights roadkill of a Golden Jackal (Canis aureus) observed inside Dudhwa National Park in Uttar Pradesh. The metal road that lies on the Indo-Nepal border is about 26 km long from Dudhwa gate to Gauri Phanta (Last village on India’s side) and is open to vehicular traffic from approximately 6 am to 7 pm. Rhinos Adapting Well to Dudhwa National Park

A greater one-horned Rhinoceros cub was born about 10 days ago in Dudhwa National Park in Uttar Pradesh. The birth of the cub is seen as continuing success of a relocation program that began in 1984. Three Elephants Electrocuted Near Dudhwa Wildlife Sanctuary

Three elephants were electrocuted near Dudhwa Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh when a high tension electric wire fell on them. The 11,000 volt electric wire fell on the elephants when they uprooted an electric pole. The elephants were burnt alive. Forest officials are probing the deaths though, as these elephants had damaged agricultural produce and farmers had been demanding compensation from the government.
