The ambitious Rs. 9000 crore Ken-Betwa river link project will not be given environmental clearance his Ministry, says the Union Minister for Environment and Forests, Jairam Ramesh. Mr. Ramesh feels that it would be disastrous to pursue the project. The project is expected to be included in the 12th five year plan, starting next April.
